Your heart is bigger than anyone else that I know. Your smile is so addictive; I could watch it all day long! The sound of your laughter brings tears to my eyes… not tears of sadness, but tears of joy! You have been through so much in your life. Way more than any twenty year old should have ever had to go through. And despite your constant uphill battle, you have turned out to be such a lovely young lady.
I am so happy that you allowed me to be a part of your life. I know that step-parents aren’t a child’s favorite person… and we definitely had a rocky start, didn’t we baby girl? But we landed on top! You are now, not only my daughter (in every sense of the word) but you are also my friend! I’m sorry you had to go through so much pain to realize how much I love you! You know what they say… WHAT DOESN’T KILL US WILL ONLY MAKE US STRONGER! That couldn’t be more true! And even though someone else had the honor of carrying you in their womb for nine months, I had the pleasure of raising you. No matter what…. YOU ARE MY BABY GIRL! And that will never change! You are twenty years old! You are a beautiful young woman! And nobody can ever hurt you again! Nobody can ever break the ties that bond us together!
