Have you ever laughed so hard that tears seriously rolled down your face? You know… the kind of laugh where you actually have to cross your legs because you risk tinkling in your britches? Well… that has been how my day has gone today, which is surprisingly exciting considering it is Monday!
I really thought that today would stink because it is Monday. I didn’t have my daughter’s lesson plans made out until noon today (home school). I am so far behind on this wedding project that is supposed to launch in one week. I have actually been feeling a little down on myself with this whole business plan and marketing strategy. I just expected today to really stink!
But surprisingly it hasn’t! I was reminded by a friend of mine today how talented she thinks I am. She told me that she loves going to my facebook and looking at all of my pictures because she thinks I’m fabulous. Well, I don’t know about fabulous… but Christie I sure did need that today! Thank you.
After Christie left me that message on Facebook, it made me think about something that my husband said to me a few days ago. I was on my way to Brentwood to meet with a couple that was interested in my wedding photography, when I texted him and told him that I was nervous. I know, it’s wierd. I shouldn’t still get nervous when I meet a bride and groom, but I do! Not to mention… I shouldn’t be texting and driving, but that isn’t the point here! Anyway… my husban’d response to me was so perfect. He told me not to be nervous, and that I was the best at what I do (thank God somebody thinks so LOL) and that he loves me and knows that I have found my calling! AAWWWWWW! Isn’t my husband the best? It took us a long time to get where we are today, but I thank God I stuck it out to experience the wonderfulness that my beautiful husband has to offer.
WORDS! They are so powerful! We have the ability to make or break someone’s day simply by the words that we choose to speak or type. I always try to be a “glass is half-full” type of gal, but it is still easy to get discouraged and down on yourself. And it would sometimes be so easy for someone to set me in an frenzious motion! But not today. Today could have very well been a typical, aweful Monday. But a simple kind word, and support and encouragement from someone who had no idea how powerful her words were going to actually be, made all the difference!
And to end this with the funniest part of my day… I totally have to share with you something that one of my contacts said on Facebook. Shannon Fontaine of Shannon Fontaine Photography made me laugh so hard today that I couldn’t stop crying. I was trying to read what he wrote several times to my husband who thought I was crazy… but I couldn’t even get the words out without cracking up. You have to appreciate Facebook humor, okay?
He said:
“After seeing the ads I’ve tried the ‘new’ Dominoes Pizza and have to say honestly that I like it better – as a tribute I am now going to smear garlic butter all over every print that leaves my studio…I can smell business heating up as we speak.”
Thanks Shannon for making me laugh! Everybody needs a laugh like this every once in a while. And this just proves that you never know where it may come from! This day will serve as a reminder for me to choose my words carefully!
