Well it wasn’t the typical Easter spent with family! Those days seem to be long gone… and even though I was sad about that at first, God sent me a blessing! I truly have begun to see the good in all things! I was able to share my family Easter with my oldest and dearest friend whom I haven’t seen in YEARS! Jessica flew in from New Orleans to stay with my family for four days! I can’t tell you how blessed this Easter truly was!
Jessica and I were the best of friends as a child! We practically lived with each other because there was hardly a night that went by that she and I weren’t spending the night at each others home. But due to unfortunate circumstances beyond our control, we were forced to spend the past twenty years of our lives wondering where the other was. Now I’m sure you all have old grade school friends that you’ve lost touch with that you would love to see. But that isn’t what this friendship is! Jessica and I have been searching for each other for years! We both grew up in Louisiana, but I relocated to Tennessee and she relocated to Florida. We had no way of knowing where each other was.
I think Facebook is the greatest thing since sliced cheese! Jessica found me on Facebook and we picked up like we were the best of friends and had seen each other yesterday. I’ve already shared our trip to Birmingham with you. I’m here to tell you that I do not intend to spend any more time away from her than I have to. Our next trip is planned for May or June where I will be joining her in New York for a long weekend while she is there for trial. (She is in the legal field, not the criminal field). Then after that my family will be joining her in Florida for a week of fun on the beach! And when we come back from that trip, she will be riding back to Tennessee with us in order to stay with me in Tennessee for a bit. Then I am hoping to join her in Italy for Christmas where she will be visiting with her sister whom I also would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see again!
Anyway… I’ve totally drifted off topic here. The bottom line is this: God continues to send blessings my way! A lot of things have changed around here which meant putting some distance between us and some of the people we love. But I believe with all my heart that God knows exactly what He is doing because He continues to make everything worth it in the end! Thank you God for giving me back my sister, Jessica.
