A Memphis Engagement Session + Becky & Mike

I’ve never really spent much time in Memphis… until this past weekend anyway. Scott and I had the most amazing time hanging out with Becky and Mike in downtown Memphis. We met them at Gus’ World Famous Fried Chicken on Front Street for lunch, and when Becky and Mike stepped around the corner to walk up the sidewalk… I immediately recognized Becky’s smile. I was worried that I may not recognize them from only seeing them on Facebook. But that was not the case.

After lunch we followed them to our hotel and got checked in before hopping in the car with them to traipse around the city. The energy in Memphis is so exciting. It was chaotic and beautiful… total swoon! I love Memphis!

We visited a few places that Becky and Mike had previously chosen since I was not familiar with the city, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital where Becky and Mike not only met for the first time, but where they work together day in and day out. St. Jude is a very important part of their story, and it was important to them to have a photo with the hospital logo in the background. Listening to them talk about what St. Jude is all about almost brought me to tears.

Scott and I immediately felt a connection to them when we were at the park shooting and they brought out the iPod. Mike started singing out loud “Move Bitch” by Ludacris, and it was a moment that I actually was shaking so hard from laughing that I had to put the camera down. PRICELESS MOMENTS!

Becky and Mike… you guys rock! Scott and I had so much fun hanging out with you in Memphis and getting to know you. It is so nice to finally get to meet you guys face to face. I am so looking forward to your wedding in December, as well as to watch our friendship grow over this next year. Congratulations on your engagement! Enjoy your sneak peek!
