Teen Identity Momentum Is Coming To Middle Tennessee

 

Those of you who follow me on Facebook have probably already seen me mention an exciting program coming to Middle Tennessee for teenage girls! The time to announce exactly what that is has come! I am so honored and excited to be part of this movement, as well as playing a part in changing the lives of teenage girls.

Teenage girls have so many insecurities that they face every single day. And it is no wonder because they are faced with so many mixed messages on television and other forms of media about what is beautiful, that they do not have a REAL sense of beauty and self-worth. The results of this can be devastating for our youth and Teen Identity Momentum is going to change that!

I am so happy to be teaming up with Teen Identity, a national program that is changing the lives of teenage girls. They have agreed to come to Middle Tennessee, giving our very own teenage girls an opportunity to experience not only an amazing modeling experience, but a chance to realize how beautiful they truly are, and to hopefully avoid become a statistic.

• 7 in 10 Girls believe they are not good enough or do not measure up in some way.
• 1 in 5 high school girls say they don’t know 3 adults to turn to if they have a problem.
• Girls’ self-esteem peaks when they are 9 years old, then takes a nose dive.
• By age 15, clinically depressed girls outnumber boys with depression 2 to 1.
• 6 out of 10 girls stop doing things they love (gymnastics, ballet, swimming lessons, sports) because they feel bad about how they look.
• Across the nation 50% of young girls are engaged in negative activities such as injuring and cutting themselves or engaging in unhealthy eating habits and disorders due to self-esteem and self-image issues.

After 13 years of research and 7 years of testing, Teen Identity Momentum has designed a curriculum for transforming the lives of teen girls (ages 12 – 18). It starts with a two-week intensive online training course followed by a live event that provides girls powerful tools, skills, resources and strategies for living their most confident and powerful life right now while launching them into their best and brightest future possibilities by focusing on self esteem, identity, confidence, poise, media training, finding your voice, modeling, posing, and much more. The program highly interactive and the results are self-evident. The day after their training, each girl is invited to participate as a model in a complete styled fashion photo shoot.

Teen Identity Momentum is coming to Smyrna, TN on September 22, 2012. I am honored to be partnering with them to bring this opportunity to our area. I am a mother of a teenage girl myself, and I have witnessed with her and her friends the devastating effects that can happen when a teenage girl loses their confidence and self-esteem.
