Pensacola Beach Vacation

It was a much needed week away from home with the family! Every year we look forward to the memories we are building for our children. For the past two summers in a row, we have vacationed on Pensacola Beach and it has become our home away from home. I have to admit that I squealed with delight when I called to order pizza from The Florida Pizza Kitchen and they gave me the “locals only discount” because they already had my phone number and address in their system. I could totally see me becoming a beach bum for the rest of my life. The stunning beaches, the mesmerizing sunsets, the water sports, and the relaxing sound of the crashing ocean waves truly call to me.

We were lucky enough to be able to spend this week with our children as well as my mother-in-law, my sister-in-law, and my niece and two nephews. There were eleven of us staying in our condo, and while there may have been no room to walk in the living room at night because of the air mattress… we never once thought it was crowded. This vacation affirmed for us how truly blessed we are to have such an amazing family! I only pulled out my “real” camera ONCE. The rest of the week was captured via iPhone only… including the images below. It was truly nice to put down the camera for a bit and truly BE THERE with my loved ones.

I write this post today as the coast of Florida is currently experiencing the blows of Tropical Storm Debby. The week before we arrived in Florida, Pensacola flooded. During our vacation, the weather was absolutely perfect. We experienced high tides and a few rip currents, but we never once experienced anything bad. But the very day after we returned home, Tropical Storm Debby hit the coast wreaking havoc in her path. Tornadoes are ripping through the entire state of Florida. Several areas are under mandatory evacuations. And beaches are experiencing horrible erosions. I feel completely blessed to have been there when I was. But I know there are many vacationers and residents who are not so lucky this week. My prayers are with them all!

Internet… I AM BLESSED!
