The Ugly Truth

I am usually very careful about what I post on Facebook or on the blog. I learned a long time ago that the kind of attention you get from being negative or whatever is just not for me. Instead I always try to be uplifting, positive, funny (even though my husband tells me I suck at it) and even helpful. Even when I am in a horrible or lazy mood, I am still trying to find something uplifting to share with the internet world. But you know what? Sometimes I am just in a bad mood, even if I don’t always share that with you. Sometimes my day is just awful! And today has been one of those days.

I will not go into details of the horrible events that have taken place over the last 24 hours. Personally it is not my story to share, and in order to protect the family and loved ones of this person I will just tell you that something awful took place. It did not affect me personally. But it did personally effect hundreds of people in our community as well as many people that I care about greatly.

But that is not exactly what this post is about.

This post is about the ugly truth! That ugly truth is that life is not always rainbows and butterflies. People, including me, live their lives day to day and do not always share every little detail. We sit and look at what we THINK is reality when it comes to other people’s lives, and we compare our lives to theirs. How does that old saying go? “Don’t compare your reality with someone else’s highlight reel.” And it is true. We do that! I DO THAT!

But the ugly truth is… sometimes life is just plain ugly and mean. And every now and then, everyone needs a little prayer.. even if they aren’t directly asking for it.

1. I love the blog! 2. I was just listening to the radio today and a girl was talking about how we need to share our struggles and truths with one another so we can have people to relate to and pray for. I love this post! So true! <3

Thank you Kristin! It is difficult to admit when we are broken.
