Every Friday is “Fix It Friday” over at I Heart Faces where we are given a photo that belongs to someone else, and we are challenged to “Fix It.” This week’s photo belongs to Amy Pinney. Amy’s daughter is propped up on the side of a pinball machine watching her grandpa play. The I Heart Faces team originally thought that this photo could not be “fixed” but I’m glad they chose to let us work on it this week. I was excited to try out my new Lightroom presets that I bought from Totally Rad! And I must say it is the best $100 I’ve spent in a while! I love them!
Here is the original photo submitted by Amy Pinney:
There are two things I am crazy about where photography is concerned! One of those is textures, and the other is reflections! I absolutely love that you can see the little girl’s reflection in the pinball machine. And I wanted to use a texture without losing that reflection. So after playing with my new Totally Rad presets in Lightroom where I applied the Mystery Machine Strong preset and played with the brush tool a little bit, I opened it up in Photoshop and applied a texture where I lowered the opacity just a bit and set it to multiply! Then I just used the history brush at 24 percent opacity and slowly erased the texture where I didn’t want it to be.
Here is what I came up with by playing in Lightroom and Photoshop! I like what I came up with a lot! I’m jealous that this isn’t a picture of my own daughter because I want to hang it on my wall! LOL!
Be sure to go on over to the I Heart Faces website and check out other edits that were created by other people. Just click on the icon above. It is fun seeing what people come up with. And there are a lot of interesting links in the sidebar!
I would love to hear what you think about my version of this photo! Leave me a comment? And for crying out loud if you haven’t already subscribed to my blog, will you just do it? It’s the little things in life that make me happy! MUUAAAHHHH!
